Definition Optical and Wide-ranged

1. Definition Optical
Optical instrument is a tool of human vision, both natural and manmade. Natural optical instrument is an eye and artificial optical devices are tools of human vision to observe objects that can not be seen clearly by the eye. Which included artificial optical devices include: glasses, camera, magnifying glass or a loupe, microscopes, binoculars, and a periscope.

2. Types of Optical Goods
a. Eyes and Glasses
1) Parts Mata
Diagram of a human eye is shown in the following figure.

Human Eye Diagram
Human Eye Diagram
  1. Cornea The front part of the eye which has a sharper arch and coated cornea.
  2. Aquaeous humor which is fluid behind the cornea that serves cahayayang diffuses into the eye.
  3. Eyepiece or the crystalline lens that part which serves to regulate pembiasanyang caused by fluid in the front of the lens. Eye lens is a convex lens.
  4. Iris namely membrane in front of the eye lens that form a circle and the gap serves to give color to the eye.
  5. The pupil is slit circle formed by slices and serve to regulate the intensity of light incident on the eye.
  6. Retina or the retina is the part that serves as a screen to capture the real image, upside down, and minimized formed by the lens of the eye.
  7. Yellow spots are part of the retina that are sensitive to light. To be clearly visible shadow, the shadow must be formed in the right retina yellow spots.
  8. The optic nerve is the nerve that connects the brain so that the yellow spots with sinyalsinyal shade of yellow spots up to the brain and the brain that translates so that shadows become upright, not upside down as captured by the retina.

Diagram formation of shadows on the eyes are as follows:

2) Power Eye Accommodation
Southwestern eye accommodation is the ability of the lens to thicken (Convex) or thinning (flat)
according to the distance of objects seen so that the shadow falls right on the retina. The nearest point which can be clearly seen by the eye with maximum berakomodasi called deca titlk eye or punctum proximum. The furthest point that can be seen clearly by eyes with eye berakomodasi not referred to a distant point or punctum remotum eye.

b. Camera
The camera and the eye diagrams have similarities in terms of the formation of shadows. The image formed on the film dropped the camera lens (as if the retina) located between F and 2F. The image produced is real, reversed, minimized.

Camera
Camera
Diagram formation of shadows on the camera and the eye is like the following.

The parts of the camera are as follows:
  1. Beffungsi convex lens to form an image.
  2. Movie function to capture the image formed convex lens.
  3. Pemfokus ring that part which serves to regulate or rnengubah-change lens distance according to the distance of the object to be photographed in order to form a clear shadow on the film. On most cameras, ring pemfokus no.
  4. The diaphragm is the part which make up the gap to adjust the amount of light intensity on the film.

c. Lup or magnifier
Lup or magnifying glass is a convex lens which is used to see small objects to appear larger and clearer. In loops, objects placed between O and F so that the image forms in front of the lens is virtual, erect, enlarged. If the image formed loops are at the point near the eyes, the eyes will see it with maximum berakomodasi. Conversely, if the currency you want to observe objects by using a loop in the state of relaxation without accommodation, things must be put right at the focal point of the loop.

Here is a picture of the formation of shadows in the loop:

d. Microscope
A microscope is composed of two convex lenses. The first convex lens close to the object is called the objective lens and the second convex lens which is close to the observer's eye is called ocular lens. Ocular lens functions similarly to the loop.

Microscope

Diagram formation of shadows on the microscope is as follows:

The image formed by the lens obyektik is real, inverted, enlarged, while its last shadow formed by the ocular lens, is virtual, inverted, enlarged.

e. Binoculars (telescope)
Binoculars or a telescope is an optical instrument used to see objects very far to look closely and clearly. There are two types of binoculars, namely binoculars bias, which is composed of several lenses, and binoculars reflective, which is composed of several mirrors or mirrors combined with lenses.

f. Periscope
Periskop
Periscope

Periscope is an optical instrument used by the crew of the submarine to observe objects that exist on the surface of the sea. Periscope component consists of two convex lenses (objective and eyepiece) and two convex mirror or prism.
